Chris Vickers

Associate Professor of Economics at Auburn University

Chris is an economic historian who works on applied microeconomics. One strand of his research examines aspects of manufacturing during the Great Depression, including the role of competition policy and of labor sharing policies. Another research project is the study of the effects on wage controls during World War 2, and their effects on subsequent levels of income inequality. In addition to these projects, he is currently studying the econometrics of social mobility, with particular emphasis on historical topics and the importance of women in transmitting social status.
