Kasra Jalaldoust is a third-year PhD student at Columbia, advised by Elias Bareinboim. He utilizes the semantics of causal inference to study fundamental challenges in the out-of-distribution generalization problem. His primary focus is on the theoretical aspects of the topic, such as the asymptotic properties of learning algorithms and their performance guarantees. Before joining Columbia, he completed his undergraduate degree in Computer Science and Economics at Sharif University of Technology, Tehran, Iran.
